ABM AHEAD 35mm Air Defence System
Hier ist das erste 35mm AHEAD-System, das realisiert wurde (1993). Es stützt sich auf das Zwillingsgeschütz Feldflab 35mm GDF007.
The first 35mm AHEAD system that entered service in 1993 was based on the twin 35mm anti-aircraft gun, the Feldflab 35mm GDF007.
In dieser Konfiguration ist die Feuerleitung (Skyguard) vom Geschütz getrennt.
In this configuration, the fire control unit, Skyguard, is separated from the gun.
Modernere Systeme mit der 35mm Revolver-Kanone KDG (1000 Sch/min.), stationär und mobil, wurden später realisiert; z.B.: Millennium, SkyShield, Mantis, 35mm Skyranger.
More modern systems using the 35mm revolver cannon KDG, capable of firing 1000 rounds per minute, were developed in fixed and mobile version followed: eg: Millennium, SkyShield, Mantis, 35mm Skyranger.

Falls der AHEAD-Zünder nicht programmiert wird, dann kommt automatisch die Selbstzerlegungsfunktion nach 8.192 s.
If the AHEAD fuze is not pre-programmed, a self-destruct function will activate automatically after 8.192 s
Ausserdem ist der AHEAD-Zünder vollständig temperatur-kompensiert.
In addition, the AHEAD fuze setting is fully temperature compensated.
Die hier abgebildete Mündungsbasis (dreispulig) erfüllt drei Funktionen:
1. Mündungsbremse
2. v0-Messung (2-Spulenbasis: Start-Stop)
3. Programmierung in der dritten Spule: von 64 ms (Vorrohrsicherheit) bis 8’192 Millisekunden
The muzzle base shown here (three-coil) fulfils three functions:
1. muzzle brake.
2. v0-measurement (2-coil base: start-stop)
3. programming in the third coil: from 64 ms (muzzle safety) up to 8'192 milliseconds.
Modernere Mündungsbasen verwenden (vorerst im Kaliber 30mm) für die Mündungsgeschwindigkeit-Messung nur eine Spule statt zwei und sind entsprechend leichter.
More modern muzzle bases (for now in 30mm caliber) use only one coil instead of two for muzzle velocity measurement and are correspondingly lighter.
